Across the Threshold: Them interlopers
"WHY!?" Chase said as "Roundabout" played in the background, "AND HOW DID YOU LOSE A POTENTIAL SUSPECT!?" "HEY CALM DOWN!" Chipp barked back before continuing in a more "Look Chase, I know that they got away and I know I screwed up but, we finally have a foothold on the case." "I'm assuming that our foothold is our friend here?" Bartch asked referring to Beowulf, who gave Chase and the other avian members of the team a fake predatory look. Chase just gave a cold glare back under his helmet. "(So what did happen?)" Q asked. "Well," Chipp answered, "I'll explain...."
As Chipp explains himself let's see what happened (after two chapters, sorry about that) Chipp was beginning transform to face Omnidec as Beowulf charged at Verdtrus and Mordecai. As Chipp finished his transformation, he summoned his shield and his own gunsword and began to charge, but stopped seeing that Omnidec was not charging back, he just moved in front of Mordecai drawing his weapon which was a circular melee weapon with a spike at the end of it. Verdtrus turned to Omnidec yelling "Guard him with your life!" Omnidec nodded and grabbed Mordecai by the waist and ran, forcing Chipp to run after them. them. Then Verdtrus turned at the charging Beowulf, brought out a gun, and shot him a few times. This causes Beowulf to stager a bit, but Verdtrus kept shooting at his chest until he ran out of ammo. Unfazed and mildly peeved off, Beowulf rushed at Verdtrus before he could reload and grabbed him by the throat and stabbed him in the stomach several times and threw him to the side. "Good riddance!" Beowulf said as he moved to follow Chipp. Suddenly as he moved up a few steps, he felt a bullet hit him from behind the knee. Beowulf turned to Verdtrus but found only a pile of trash with the stab holes on it. Then he turned behind himself and saw an armored Verdtrus with his gun raised at Beowulf's eye level. "Start Talking, what the heck are you doing here and how did you follow us!?"
"Seriously!?" Beowulf laughed as he started to get up, in spite of his gun wound, "You're using a gun against someone like me!" Then Verdtrus felt Beowulf's motion wave which can stop almost anything without anything like Beowulf's equipment. Fortunately Verdtrus was still able to move because of his armor and how it was similar to Beowulf's. Unknown to him however Beowulf's wound was quickly healing with a faint blue glow. However a shot of pure energy hits Beowulf blind spot and sent him crashing into a wall. When Beowulf recovered, he noticed that Verdtrus disappeared and decided to follow where Chipp chased Omnidec and Mordecai.
Later on in the warehouse where the stolen artifacts were kept, Twin Drake was wearing the blue gauntlet which was glowing sapphire blue. On the table in front of him was Bakore's crumpled body which was quickly pulling itself back together. As soon as Bakore's body is returned to normal, his eyes shot open. "What had happened!?" "You fell from a 12 story roof, Idiot!" Twin Drake answers as he turned to Verdtrus and Chromdraco who were yelling at each other due what had transpired today. "You call that as success!?" Chromderaco yelled, "We nearly got killed by your jucked up plan!" "True but at least we are at least one step ahead of Beowulf!" "Besides we have Mordecai, half of all of the pieces of the requiem armor, and we still have our benefactor." "You mean that group that had gave you that software so you can get these requiem items, heck that software couldn't even work properly!" Chromdraco responded, "I knew we shouldn't have attacked those agents.Why did they give you that software if it was buggy at best?" Then Chromdraco sighed and sat down. He turned to Verdtrus, who removed his green hat to sort through his hair. "What was your benefactor's name again?" He asked Verdtrus who turned to Chromdraco and said "He said it was Black Hermit of the Dark Scavengers."

Meanwhile Chipp was chasing Omnidec and Mordecai through the streets. "Hey! Stop!" Chipp said. Omnidec and Mordecai suddenly stopped at a dead end. The two turned to see Chipp blocking their path. "Okay Mordecai," Chipp said, "seriously please, come with me and we can still get that-" "Oh would you please Shut up!" Omnidec cutting off Chipp, "Firstly you don't know the guy, secondly for a cop, your pretty terrible at your job." Omnidec stepped up weapon clearly drawn saying, "He's coming with us like it or not." "Okay so we're doing this." Chipp said pulling out his shield and gunsword. Omnidec tightened his grip on the weapon's handle which changed into a variety of configurations only to end at a rod like form, and started to charge at Chipp while he stared for at least a few minutes before standing his ground. Omnidec pummels on Chipp's shield with his weapon attempting to break it furiously like a savage animal. Chipp was being forced back one step at a time eventually falling on his back. Chipp looked up to see Omnidec holding his rod like weapon at his neck. However before Omnidec could say anything, Chipp switched his gunsword into gun mode and shot Omnidec in the face, destroying his visor. As Omnidec fell due to being shot in the face, Chipp got up and after grabbing his shield, Chipp rammed the shield down on to Omnidec's chest plate, cracking it. When Omnidec turned his head to face Chipp, his almost human eyes shone through the hole made by the gunshot. "Well at least I know what you are!" Chipp said as he pulls out a pair of handcuffs. As Mordecai was watching, he pulled out the device that Verdtrus gave him and is about to turn it on until the wall next to Omnidec blew up revealing a green entity with cables and white snake like armor running all along it's body. With it was a birdlike monster with firey feathers and armor with Tarot cards in them. The green entity shot a giant emerald at Chipp, knocking him down. Tarrot rushed out the hole and grabbed Omnidec by the arm and heaved him over his shoulder as the two enties attacked Chipp, distracting him. Then Tarrot turned to Mordecai, asking "Mordecai right? I'm not sure what Verdtrus told you but you need to come with us, your life's in danger!" "Can I say something?" Omnidec asked. "Sure." Tarrot answered. then Tarrot turned to Chipp, saying "What ever you do, don't trust Beowulf! All he is is a cutthroat and will not think twice before stabbing you in the back. Be careful!" Tarrot turned to Mordecai asking "Well, are you coming?" Mordecai turned to Chipp who was clearly listening but still occupied with the two newcomers. Mordecai then rushed at the two monsters punching the bird on the back of it's head causing it to turn and punch Mordecai square in the jaw. Tarrot sighed and brought out a sandstone chip, and placed it in his transformation device and pressed a button. Suddenly a cloud of sand appeared engulfing Tarrot, Omnidec and Mordecai. "NO!" Chip said as he broke away from the fight and rushed to grab Mordecai but the three vanished as soon as the cloud dissipated. "Frack!" Chipp said under his breath and saw the two monsters rushing at him, forcing him to ready himself.
At this time Scott had Chromdraco under his foot with his bladded tonfa at the draconic's neck. "Okay who are you and who sent you?" He asked Chromdraco. Before Chromdraco could answer, another sand cloud appeared and covered the two and something pulls Chromdraco from underneath
Scott, causing the siran to fall flat on his face. When he got up, he looked around the area, only to see nothing. "What the Frack!?" Scott asked under his breath. Soon Scott heard an explosion and saw a green entity flying through the air. Suddenly Chipp came into view and was rushing after the green entity as it crashed into the ground. As the green entity rose up with arms raised, Chipp swiped one card summoned a large cannon and after another card swipe, energy went into the cannon as Chipp's transformation device blared out "SOLO BURST FULL CHARGE HYPER!" Chipp braced himself and fired a shot which on impact reduced the green entity back into it's chip form. However the bird monster from before attempted to attack Chipp from behind only for a spike to pierce it's head causing it to scream and turn back into a chip. Chipp turned around quickly only to see the bird monster to dissolve back into it's chip form and turned to see Scott already up and his arm extended with the launcher for the spikes empty. "You had your guard down." Scott said calmly. Suddenly Beowulf came into view "What did I miss?" he said.
"Okay," Bartch said, after everybody else heard everything up to that point excluding Omnidec's warning and Beowulf's fight with Verdtrus, "So our friends have Mordecai and we have two of their chips. Chase, a word?" Chipp brought Chase aside telling him "I want you to cool yourself, you're not out of the case but I want you to look into Mordecai's first Doctor." "*Sigh* Fine, what are you going to do?" Chase asked. "Matt and Katie are going to be here soon to investigate the crime scene so you'll have a ride back. Don't worry about the reptilian guy, Bartch and I will to keep an eye on him. Wisey and Q will be here. Besides, Scott's ship is trashed so he's going to need a ride." He then turned to the others, saying "Bartch, old english guy, we're going back back to base. Chase will lead the others on an investigation on Mordecai." "Old English guy?" Beowulf asked to himself as he, Chipp, and Bartch started to head towards the door.
