Across the Threshold part 19: Eiffel Blue part 1
"So, there's nothing in the samples are there." Matt said in the crime labs in the CPDF main base. It was hours after the battle and Chipp and Bartch were present while Beowulf was in a the sub base with guards. With Chipp, Bartch and Matt were Scott, Katie, Wisey, Chase, and Q. "None." Chipp answered "However Iv'e noticed that Beo's blood is not normal. In the reports, Mordecai has rust colored blood while Beo's is black. Do you have anything at all from the impact crater that the red guy made." "We gathered some black fluids that are similar to blood but not exactly." Matt answered. "What do mean?" Bartch asked. "The substance itself is a form of lubricant," Matt explained, "think of motor oil for a car, it makes the car move." "Okay so what about our friend?" Katie asked. "Well he's talking and this figure." Chipp pulls up a picture of Verdtrus, "He was a scientist and a rebel who had stolen plans for not only a device that utilize the requiem chips but he also stole eight 'Humunculi', plans for a 'Savior' known as G Zero, a super being that is a massive upgrade for these humunculi." "Apparently this was developed by a Doctor Lightbringer of Light bringer industries." Bartch continued, "And now based on newly acquired evidence, unfortunately, I'm afraid that it may be connected to the Red Dragon Army." As he said that, he showed the pictures of the red dragon eye symbol burnt onto the ground, causing the some members of the group to groan and others to be alert. "Son of a (censored)" Chase said sighing, "Yet again, the Red Dragon swoops down and pillages the country side." "Yes, about that," Chipp started, "I believe we need to split into two teams, one to chase after Verdtrus and his 'Requiem Knights' while another will go keep a look out for the Red Dragon army. Scott will lead a group after Verdtrus, while I will lead the group that goes after the red dragon army." Wisey spoke up "Can't we take them all as a single force, I mean if they are working together, shouldn't we figure out where they are going to strike next first?" Chipp elaborates, "Well you see according to satellite images," he pulls out a satellite photo of the Verdtus's meeting with Black Hermit at the border of Gash. "Verdtrus is apparently may have some contact with someone with the Dark Scavengers, as you know, they are a minor sect of soldiers from the Red Dragon, so we need to make sure of how to best look forward towards the situation, I'm wary of what they are up to now."
Speaking of which, let's see how Mordecai is doing right now....
"Hey! Let me out!" Mordecai said, as he struggled against the bonds holding him to his chair. He is in a black room with a table and a light hanging above. The door in the corner opened up to reveal Chromdraco and Verdtrus, the later holding the incomplete transformation device that he shown Mordecai openly in the room. "You do realize that the only way you can leave is by helping us." Verdtrus said, "and I need you to finish this device so that we have a chance at G Zero." "Why!?" Mordecai asked "I would have helped you but why the JUCK did you drag me all the way to some abandoned building and how did you find me in the first place!?" "Firstly we need to hide so that Beowulf does not find us. Secondly you have designed this machine yourself, You know more about this device than I do." "Seriously." Mordecai said now with an expression that says are kidding with me? "Did you even look at the plans I sent you?" "Yes," Verdtrus responded, sighing "I'm not an engineer, I was just a analyst. I believe that we can use this to potentially defeat G Zero." "Why are looking for these things anyway? Can't we just use the chips all ready?" "Well Yes but first we need the Null Driver completed in order to properly use it." "What about you?" Mordecai asked Chromdraco, "What are you doing here?" "He's in a tight spot, it's my fault that he's in this mess," Verdtrus said, "and I plan on getting him out alive, and that goes for you too. For that to happen, I need you to help us first." Chromdraco turned and sighed. "What is it?" Verdtrus asked. "I'm starting to think working with Black Hermit, your 'Benefactor', may not be a wise idea." this causes Mordecai to perk up his ears and raise his head in surprise." "Don't worry, I-" Verdtrus started but Chromdraco raised his hand and said "Let me finish, I've done some research and it turns out that our benefactor was in cahoots with a group known as the Red Dragon Army, and they seem suspiciously similar to what the Light Bringers Industries wanted to do with G Zero." Verdtrus, visage turned into that of concern, got up and called out "Twin Drake, can you come over for a second."
