That next day...

At the CPDF's sub HQ, Chase, Mark, Katie and Beo stood over the map of the city inside of the main office. The room itself is a basic office room lined with computers on the desks and there is a large pin board with the plans of the Null units. "Bartch told me that the amulet could be the Amulet of Noas." Matt said solemnly, hand on his chin. "Legends state that it held the ability to bring someone anywhere they wished. However it remains to have a limit of three uses at most." "How can we know if that is true?" "It's all we have to go by at the moment. Plus Bartch told me that the knights are at Gash as well." "What!?" Katie said. "Son of a- their alliance pitch was a diversion wasn't it?" Matt said clenching his hands. "Regardless, we need to be on our toes." Chase said throwing the four chips on the table "Two of these were found on those blank forms in the autopsy room. Do you have any idea where those forms came from? " "I summoned them." Beo said causing everyone to look at the draken. "You summoned them!?" Katie exclaimed. "Calm down, they were completely abiotic, they won't go rouge." Beo stated "Besides they'll disperse in about three hours as soon as their chips are removed." "You could have warned us before you brought them out!" Katie exclaimed "Or even better, why are you not transparent with us?" "Well then, fine. I'm part of a group of known as 14 Grand Jewels. Mordecai, if you may haven't known has, a certain device in his head." "The adapter like device in his cranium?" Matt asked, "Yeah we know about that." "Well that's what we call a Zero Core, an ultimate converter." "Ultimate converter?" Chase asked "So an adapter." "Yes but it focuses on the host's body. Each one has an unique ability within it's software. Mordecai's is the Sigma core, the strongest Zero Core. It was stolen from Lightbringer's lab 20 years ago by Verdian Jayson, you know him as Verdtrus." "Yeah." Mark said before pulling up one of the Null Unit blueprints which features the chest section, "So these cores, these blueprints reveal that these cores plug into a Null Unit's chest?" "What? let me see!" Beo said snatching the paper much to Matt's chagrin. Studying them, Beo looked up and said "That's not possible, I thought only organic beings can use the cores efficiently."  "Maybe they could be your successors?" Mark asked. "No," Beo started,"if they had been, why would we have to-" Suddenly he fell silent and said "(censored) IT! Those lousy scientists!" He got up and said "Becoming a Jewel involves receiving one of these cores." "Wait, what?" Chase said looking up. "I  have two of these Cores, Nu and Rho." He says plainly as the group stared at the draken. 

Everyone stared at the Draken for a few minutes before Katie broke the Silence "So you have TWO of these cores?" "Yep." Beo said "It was an experiment, I think, but when I analyzed my body with your equipment, thanks for that by the way, I noticed that somethings weren't right." He pulled up the X rays he gave "With your bear friend's help, I noticed that my body has mechanical parts within that are similar to a Null unit." He points to various part parts of his body, each looking similar to the Null unit parts on the blueprint. "So you are saying that you are a Null Unit?" "No I think that I just may have Null Unit parts in my body." Beo answered."So how is this going to help us?" Mark asked. "You can make a scanning device to search for-" Suddenly a loud thump was heard behind the door. "What was that?" Beo asked, Chase then got up, saying. "It came from the front, wait here." "Wait! Where are you going?" Katie demanded. "What do you think? To see what's out in front!" "I'll come!" Beo said attaching his F.U.Z.O.R. "No! You stay here!" Chase said pointing to the draken, "I'll go see what's up." "I'll come as well!" Katie said standing up "Matt stay here with Beowulf! Make sure he doesn't do any thing stupid" "Got it." Mark said.

Entering the lobby, Chase and Katie saw a box sitting on the ground. "What is this?" Chase said picking it up. "The deliveryman told me it was some kind of adapter." Hoot explained from the lobby desk. "It was from the Gatemakers company."  "Oh really." Chase said picking up the box with hump, "It's pretty heavy though." "Yeah, the delivery man told me that there are more than one in a metal cage in order to protect it." "Well," Katie said as she turned to the door, "We need to focus on finding the Knights." "Guys!" Mark said coming in, "It's Chipp and Bartch!"

In the Persolus 

In the Persolus, Verdtrus in the hull sat on the floor. Verdtrus thought of Chromdraco, worring for his health. Then his eyes move towards the pod containing the humanoid figure. Seeing his reflection in the glass Verdtrus decided to take a look inside.  Curious, he slowly got up and stumbled towards the pod and looked into the glass. "What are you?" He said, now starting to recognize the figure inside. Suddenly the door opens, causing Verdtrus to spin around to see Vandrin in the doorway. "Jekk wants you." He said motioning outside
