Across the threshold: Double Dragon 04
Landing in the forest, Twin Drake looked around frantically as he looked for his pistol. "Where is it? Where is it?" He exclaimed, before finding the Spitfire on the ground. "There you are!" he said as he started to walk towards it. Reaching it Twin Drake leaned down to grab it when a red marked boot stepped on it. Looking up Twin Drake found Beowulf, the red devil. "Looking for this?" Beowulf asked, grinning under his helmet. Falling back, Twin Drake yelped and exclaimed, "Y-Y-YOU!" "Yeah it's me!" Beowulf answered, raising a gun to Twin Drake's face "For years I searched for you, and I got to admit, for machines, you (censored)s are surely cunning!" Suddenly, the spitfire began to glow catching both of their attention. "What the?" Beo asked before the spitfire shot a blast of energy causing both the pistol to fly away and Beo to lose his footing. Falling on his rear, Beo dropped his gun as it misfired, hitting one of the birds in the trees nearby. Twin Drake, after staring at what happened quickly shook his head and ran to the spitfire. Getting up, Beowulf tried to use his core but suddenly a flash of pain hits him like a ton of bricks. "GYAHHH!" Beo exclaimed grabbing his head, "What the heck is this!?" Grabbing the pistol Twin Drake said to it, "Thank you Eye!" before turning to Beowulf who was clearly in pain. "Now's my chance!" Twin Drake stated as he raised both guns towards Beowulf as they began to glow. Quickly, the energy that was emitted by the spitfires enveloped them forming into a pair of dragon heads Getting up, Beowulf exclaimed as he saw the dragon heads, "Oh You got to be kidding me!" Immediatley Twin Drake pulled the trigger, and like a pair of released bloodhounds, the dragon heads shot off towards the draken, eager to rip him a new one. Suddenly a blast of electrical energy passed by Beo's head and hitting one of the Dragons heads causing it to explode. Flying backwards, Beo slammed against a tree trunk as two of his chips flew out of his bag. Head spinning, Beo placed a hand to his head before someone stepped in to his left. Looking up Beo found an armored Chipp above him with a smoking blaster. "Where did you come from?" Beo asked getting up. "Wisey told us about what's been going on." "Us?" Beo asked, "you brought backup?" "(Yeah,)" Q said also armored and coming out of the foliage, "(we had to skip breakfast though!)" "Cool it!" Chipp exclaimed, motioning to Twin Drake, "We have bigger things to worry about!" 'Shoot three to one!' Twin Drake thought looking to his spitfires, 'Both Ete and Isabelle are spent, and if I stay here I'm dead meat!' Holstering his spitfires, Twin Drake's hands moved to his wings, grabbing them. "What is he doing?" Beowulf asked, as Twin Drake pulled his mechanical wings off with ease. Attaching the ends of the wings into a spiked ring, Twin Drake raised this strange ring as it glowed with purple energy and threw it at the three. "(DUCK!)" Q exclaimed as the three moved out of the way of the ring as it sliced through the trees behind them before returning to the humonculus's hand before he noticed the chips on the ground before them. Quickly reattaching his wings, Twin Drake flew at the three, grabbing the chips on the ground before retreating back to the air. "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" Beowulf exclaimed as Twin Drake flew away, "(CENSORED)!"
In the sky earlier, Tavo looked down to Wisey and called out, positioning his claws into an attack position, "Well, looks like your ally ditched you. Prepare to die!" Flying at the garuda, Tavo was about to slash at Wisey, but the garuda quickly leaped out of the way, taking Tavo by surprise. "Huh?" Tavo exclaimed, as Wisey raised his G-Saber in sword form, "You're a quick one are you?" "Yeah!" Wisey exclaimed moving into an attack position, "I learned from the best!" Quickly the two garuda clashed, claws to sword, as both combatants danced around each other. After a few minutes of clashing Tavo pulled out a gun at Wisey and shot at him several times. However, Wisey stood as the bullets only dented his armor. "(Censored)! Bullets can't do (censored) against Proto-metal!*" "Sorry!" Wiesy stated, getting ready to trigger his G saber's Solo Burst, "But this bird is not going down easy!" Suddenly something exploded behind Tavo's back. Turning around, Tavo found Chase walking towards the two fighters. Glaring at the garuda with malice, Tavo said, "Hello goldy, didn't expect you to survive your fall!" "I get around in the skies!" Chase answered raising his cross bow, "Why did you mention Terra Aera?" "Why?" Tavo asked as Wisey looked at Chase in confusion, "Why did I mention that city? Didn't you call me out for being a hypocrite!?" "Yes," Chase answered, approaching forward "but before you fired upon me, you froze! Why?" "It was a figment of my imagination!" Tavo stated, "I thought I saw a ghost from my past." "Ghost?" Chase asked, before demanding, "Who the heck are you?" Suddenly the sound of falling trees rang out in the forest causing Chase to turn. Immediately Tavo lunged at the garuda with claws outstretched. Seeing this, Wisey quickly slashed at Tavo from behind, causing the transformed garuda to turn around and kick the young garuda away before starting his jets. Hearing this Chase Exclaimed, "No!" before shooting at him. Grunting from the pain of the blasts, Tavo shot back at Chase before flying away in a burst of energy. Roaring in anger, Chase shot at Tavo as the the transformed garuda flew away as he eventually met Twin Drake in the air. "(Censored)!" Chase cursed, before turning to Wisey who was slowly getting up. "Man!" Wisey exclaimed as he got up, "That guy has some kick!" Holstering his crossbow, Chase demanded "What the heck just happened!? Are you dense?" "He was about to eviscerate you." Wisey answered, "I had to do something!" immediately Chase walked away saying, "Let's go! The others are just ahead!" "Wait who was that guy?" Wisey asked, following the garuda, "You talked as you known him for a long time! Did you know him?" "He threw me out of that white ship." Chase answered, but thought 'Though something in his voice sounded familiar.'

"We need to find a way to regroup with Omnidec and that sea monkey guy with out getting spotted," Twin Drake said, causing the transformed garuda to turn to him, "it's only a matter of time before Rho Nu sniffs them out" "Who?" Tavo asked, raising an eye ridge. "He's the crimson armored fellow that was with that C.P.D.F. agent." Twin Drake explained, "He seems to have the ability to induce a force on objects motion, stopping them in their place. That was what you felt when in the sky when you tried to eviscerate them in mid air." "Cocky (censored) that reptilian is!" "Draken." Twin Drake corrected, "They have manes and ears of a horse." "I DON'T GIVE A (TACTICAL OMISSION)!" Tavo exclaimed, passing underneath the humonuclus, "A (CENSORED)ING LIZARD IS A (CENSORED)ING LIZARD!" "You're a lizard!" Twin Drake pointed out sailing over the transformed garuda's head, "A lizard with a bloody eye infection at that." "It was a gift from my superiors!" Tavo said, "I'm not always like this!" "Ah yes," Twin Drake stated, "I recall that your true form is a that of a rust colored bird man, am I wrong?" "YOU GOT SOMETHING TO SAY PUNK!?" Tavo exclaimed. "Sorry, I'm just pointing out your appearance being that of a (censored)ing lizard, that's all." "Listen here you freaking lizard!" Tavo said flying up to Twin Drake's face, and grabbing his chest plate, "I did not choose this form because I like it, I choose this form to just be stronger! What's your excuse!?" "What, my form!?" Twin Drake exclaimed. Pushing him away, Tavo said, "(Censored) it! You androids wouldn't understand." Struggling to be stable, Twin Drake exclaimed, "Hey! I am more than an android!" "Look, " Tavo said, starting to fly away, "personally I don't really care what you are, so let's drop it!" "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO BROUGHT IT UP!" Twin Drake exclaimed as they flew to the hover car in the marshy forest below.
Back at the fort, Omnidec, Binn, and Blueacon followed the crowd of Bucketheads to the prison where the trouble was. "So someone was burned?" Omnidec asked, "Does anybody know how it happened?" "We did have a new guest this morning," Blueacon said, as two of their number carried out a figure wearing burnt black and red armor, "come on!" "What?" Omnidec asked before Blueacon grabbed him and Binn by the back of their collars and dragging them to the prison itself. Inside, they found Kaitres just sitting there with her eyes closed and a smile on her face. "Who's that?" Omnidec asked approaching the deer like woman but Binn quickly grabbed the humonculus's shoulder and pulled him back. "Don't," Binn said, "she's one of the three battle maidens!" "Battle maidens?" Omnidec asked, "What the heck is that supposed to-" "It seems that my reputation perceives me." Kaitres said, opening her eyes, "I hope you seen my handiwork." "(Why you little!)" Blueacon exclaimed as Binn pulled Omnidec back. Transforming into his noid form, Blueacon stomped forward and grabbed Kaitres by the neck and lifted her in the air. "(You and your posse had tired to kill us last night!)" Blueacon exclaimed ready to throttle the deer woman, "(The only reason why you're still alive is because-)" "Eacon!" Clay exclaimed managing to get inside through the crowd, "What on Mars are you doing!?" "(She torched Ozzy!)" Blueacon exclaimed, "(Why is she even alive!?)" "We need information!" Clay answered marching up to the garuda noid, "Besides we don't murder our prisoners!" "That boy was boring anyway!" Kaitres nonchalantly stated as if torching a man was as simple as taking out the trash causing Bleacon to glare dangerously at her with intent to kill. Seeing this glare, Kaitres smiled and said, "Say, you look fun" "HEY!" Clay exclaimed, "Put her down now!" Begrudgingly, Blueacon dropped Kaitres on her seat, and walked to the door turning back into a garuda. Suddenly he paused, as Binn and Omnide seemed to disappeared into thin air.
Outside after breaking through the crowd, Binn and Omnidec quickly moved across the fortress grounds. Immediately they ducked behind a ship as Omnidec turned to Binn. "What was that guy?" He demanded, "I never seen anything like him before." "I think he's a being that we call a noid, the ultimate living weapon. " Binn explained, "They originated a project from the 5 years war, when the Red Dragon Army was just reptilians. They say that some crazed officer had kidnapped some kids and experimented on them, turning them into monsters, all because the guy was trying to create his own Encumbra." "Encumbra?" Omnidec asked. "He was a bad dude from our myths." Binn explained, "He tried to drain the planet of it's lifeblood but was struck down by God and the first four elementals." "Talking of bogeymen are we?" a familiar voice asked, causing the two to turn. "YEOW!" Binn exclaimed as the large woman stood up, "How much did you hear!?" "Just enough," Ms Ratch answered, picking up her tool box, "just enough." "Look," Omnidec said, "I know what this looks like but I can explain." "Hmm~hmm." Ratch said, "I was going to warn Clay about you boys but I guess it's a little late now." Putting a hand to Kaiser's gun, Binn said, "Listen lady, I wouldn't scream so how about you turn around and walk away." "Boy," Ratch said leaning forward, "you should be the one walking." Suddenly Blueacon's curses blasted through the air in a fury of quack-like cuss words and not so subtle threats against the knight and Red Dragon agents. Quickly turning to Ms Ratch, Omnidec grabbed Binn as they began to run to the exit. "Come on!" Omnidec said, "Do you know where your hover car is?" "Yeah it's in the forest ahead." Binn said, "Hope Tavo and your buddy did not drive off into the sunset already." Suddenly they quickly stopped as soon as they they reached the exit. Before them was Scott and James standing in the open archway. "I knew something was up!" Scott said before revealing his Armorizer.
