Across the threshold: NU RHO GAMMA 01
The next day in the Buckethead's base the agents and the bucketheads stood around the table Primo set up earlier, ready to plan their next move. "Alright," Chipp said, "we are dealing with a highly dangerous group so we need to be careful when approaching their ship!" Stepping forward, Beo stated, "Hey as long as we get Verdian, it's all good!" "Okay," Katie stated "on our side, we have about 9 armored warriors, a noid and 4 guys with guns. On the enemy side, they have a crew 10 knights, 5 powerful monsters, a strategist and.... Kaiser." Hearing the name, Chipp balled his hands for a moment before walking forward stating, "Thanks to an insider, the ship is located in the furthest end of the quarry. Currently thanks to Chase it has sustained damage on it's left side near the hangar bay so we do have to hit them before they can make repairs." "We will go in 2 teams," Katie explained, putting the blueprints of "The first team will go and draw the enemy out while the second group will try and get in the ship from behind." "That's it?" Jerry asked, "Did you cook that up last night?" "You can thank Clay for that." Chipp answered pointing to his head, "Being a former combat drone helps in forming plans." "Actually combat drones rely on a central computer to form strategies" Bartch explained, gaining a variety looks from the group, "Erm *ahem* though reaching singularity can allow any machine to increase it's intelligence through learning and free will." "*pfff* So what if it can learn," Beo commented spitefully, "a machine is a machine." "You got something to say son?" Jerry asked as he stepped forward. "HEY!" Katie exclaimed, "Let's focus on the mission here!" "I'm just saying," Beo said, "if you care about those knights so much then reprogram them." "Beowulf!" Chipp exclaimed as Primo stepped forward, "Look, Beowulf is it? Those are kids not robots." Suddenly the draken slammed his fist on the table exclaiming, "THOSE KIDS TOOK MY DAD!" With that, Beo walked away as those in attendance stood in shocked.
On the deck on the Grendel, Vandrin called out "Again!" as Omnidec, Flaron, Twin Drake, and Tameron got up panting. "Man," Tameron asked, "can you ease up a bit? You've been drilling us for hours." "The enemy has located our ship and are likely going to eliminate us!" Vandrin answered, "Despite your mechanical bodies, all your ability is rely solely upon your powers. You need to improve your skills and not rely stay complacent as you are now." "Oh come on!" Omnidec exclaimed, hands on his knees, "Don't give us that! We got most of the items already!" "And yet one of your comrades was caught by enemy fire." Vandrin retorted, "I can see now that you are not suitable for combat at your current state." "So what are we," Flaron demanded, "just more soldiers for your army!?" "If you like to see it that way." Vandrin answered, "But I'm only training you because your commander wanted me to help you learn how to fight properly, now if you want to survive, I suggest we go another round." Immediately Flaron roared as she charged the sirian. Seeing this the other three humonculi groaned and charged roaring as well.
"This is bull!" Tavo exclaimed, in the mess hall, "Why aren't we moving like last time!?" "It's because of that hole you blew in the ship." Binn answered as he, Tarrot and Flip ate on the table, "Remember that?" "Yes I do!" Tarrot answerd, "But even with the hole we were still able to move!" "Maybe we ran out of fuel?" Flip suggested, "Maybe we could buy some from Gulliver town?" "That's tactical suicide kid," Binn said, "besides we have all the fuel we need downstairs." Sighing Tarrot leaned back stating, "Look, I have to agree with the bird guy. Something isn't right here and I think it might have something to do with Voidmond. He's been with Verdtus for a less than a week and yet he's now confiding with Verdy as if he's some kind of advisor." "Wait, you mean the new guy? The one who literally punched a hole in Vandrin's chest?" Tavo asked. "He what?" Tarrot asked, sitting up. "When, well you know, we brought in Verdtrus guy," Binn explained, "We were supposed to bring in that blue lizard fella and that huge chrome guy as well, but when we KO'd Chromy, that terminator beat the (censored) out of Tavo and Vandrin and ran off with the lizard." "That's new," Tarrot said leaning forward, "at the time I thought he was some newly formed humonculi that Mordecai reprogrammed. Was he like a robot at the time?" "Yeah," Tavo answered, "he was." Pondering about this, Tarrot got up and told Flip "Flip finish your breakfast." "Alright." Flip said as he quickly scarfed up the toast, "Are you going to tell Verdtrus?" "Maybe," Tarrot said as they got up, "Also don't talk while your mouth is full." "Hey," Binn called as the two were leaving, "sorry about the chrome guy earlier, we just got those forms that day and we weren't used to it yet." Looking back, Tarrot said, "I see, if that's true, I suggest you just keep yourself in check."
Outside the Bucketheads' Base Beo stood to the side of the now cracked wall where 21 was slammed into earlier yesterday. Looking at the rainbow painted onto it's surface, Beo gritted his teeth and cursed saying sarcastically, "What do they know? They're just machines, drones for armies!" "Is that so?" a voice called out. Immediately Beo turned to see Chase walking towards him hands in his pockets. "Oh it's you bird boy!" Beo said turning away, "Spare me the lectures, I'm not in the mood." "Listen," Chase said, "you're not the only one who suffered. " "Oh?" Beo asked turning, "and what did you lost?" "Everything, it was 2019 when the Reptilian empire attacked Terra Area, my old hometown." Chase answered, "Some of their own people left their government in order to live with us as refuges in peace, however, their military the Red Dragon army attacked and ravaged the city, killing countless lives in the process." "Wait, the red dragon army-?" "They were originally in the Reptilians empire's main military," Chase answered, "though they were ordered to disband at the end of the 5 years war." "Did they know about the refuges?" Beo asked. "They did," Chase answered, "in fact it was the very reason why they attacked. I lost a lot of friends and family that day and ever since I swore that no one would suffer such a tragedy ever again, but I went about it in the wrong way. I initially blamed the refugees for the attack viewing them nothing more as monsters, but there was someone who showed me otherwise, a reptilian." "So what am I supposed to take from " Beo gritted his teeth, "That I should treat Verdtrus' attack drones like family?" "Not really, " Chase answered, "but you shouldn't condemn an entire species for the actions of a few of its individuals. Come on we still need-" Sudeenly the Draken punched the garuda in the beak, causing him to fall on his rear. "HEY!" Chase exclaimed before the draken exclaimed, "I lost everything to those robots! When we raid the Grendel, I will not hold back!" Getting up, Chase grunted "Fine!" as he walked back to the base before stopping at the door. "Are you going to just stand there?" He said to the draken, "Everybody is waiting for you back inside!" Begrudgingly Beo walked up and upon reaching the door, Chase grabbed his shoulder telling the draken "If you don't hold yourself back, I will!"

In the Grendel Verdtus stood near the bridge window, watching the humonculi training with the bloodhound squad as they prepared for battle. "I know you're worried for them," Eithine said as she walked in, "I can see it in your eyes." Not turning, Verdtrus sighed and stated, "They're just kids, not soldiers." "I apologize for the mistreatment of you and your knights, Verdian, when I found out about Jekk's reaction, I called Black Hermit as soon as I could.." Eithine said, "Take it from me, Jekk was not always the crabby man he is today. Back in the war, he had lost " "Look at them," Verdtrus said pointing to Vandrin, who was practicing with Omnidec, Flaron and Tameron simultaneously. "earlier this week he injected Chromdraco with venom and now here he is, sparring with my son and the others." Then pointing to Voidmond, "And him, I'm not even sure if I can even trust him. He's-" "I get it," Eithine interrupted, "but we need all the help we can get," Suddenly Verdtrus' com beeped causing the blue humaniod to answer with a "Hello?" "Verdtus," Chromdraco said through the com "The deer girl is awake."
