Across the threshold: War Blues 02

In the morning, Mordecai walked up to the railing to Dr Karka's appartment, and pulled out his phone to text Louise. Suddenly, a loud boom was heard in the sky, causing Mordecai to look up to see a pair of ships flying over the cit towards the South. "What the heck!?" Mordecai exclaimed, before Karka rushed to his side and looked towards the ships. "Wow! The CPDF are mobilizing." Suddenly Mordecai's phone beeped along with Karka's phone. "We'll be back in a few days, check with Virginain in case of emergency!?" Mordecai read, "Who the heck is Virginain?" Suddenly a knock on the door was heard, causing Karka to walk up to the door and open it. On the other side was Virginian who said, "Hi, I'm Virginain of the CPDF, may I come in?"

Near the border of North and South Atlantia...

After an hour of flying, the carrier ship for Chipp's group landed in the marshes causing a pack of red dodo like birds to disperse nearby. Exiting the shuttle, Chipp, Scott and Chase stepped out and looked around the area. The marsh itself is lush with alien wildlife and exotic plants, one of the most notable is the orange barked titian trees which tower over the bus sized carrier ship "So this is Atlantia?" Chase asked, "My dad told me that it had swamps but it's a lot- Huh!?"  Immediately Chase's feet caught a branch submerged in mud causing the garuda to fall over. "Nice landing," Scott said before helping the Garuda up, " I'd watch my step if I were you." "Thanks,  Chase said wiping the mud off, "Chippy where's this fortress anyway?" "About a click from here." Chipp said, "Hopefully we can get information about that white ship without too much trouble." "(Gyah! Bugs! Shoo!)" Q said getting out with a small can of bug spray, "(I hope we get this over with soon, Larry might wonder where we are Chase.)" "Larry?" Scott asked, "Don't you usually hire a pet sitter for that thing?" "Not really. " Chase said, "He's self sufficient." "Pet sitter? "  Beo said stepping out, "What are you talking about?" "(Larry is a gold furred lobster,)" Q explained, "(Chase got him after moving to New Forma City, long story.)" "Furred lobster?" Beo said before laughing, "Everyday brings more amusement." "Look, I already told you, I asked a friend of mine to keep Larry company so he won't be lonely." Chase said to Q before turning to Beo, "Keep an eye out, and uh your ears perked. We are basically in dangerous territory." "I second that, " Scott said as Wisey and Michael walked out of the ship before the group set out to the Bucketheads' base.

Some time later, the group stepped into the first grassy field out of the the marsh. In front of them was a fortress just standing on a hill. Approaching it, Chipp said raising his armorizer, "Okay, we should transform immediately. Just in case!" "Why?" Beo asked, "I don't see anything to be concerned about." "Yeah," James said, "Seriously what could possibly go wrong?" Suddenly a heavy twung was heard from inside the castle as something flew over it's walls. "COW!" Wisey exclaimed as the group ran back to avoid the corpse of a cow from landing on top of them. "THAT'S WHAT COULD GO WRONG!" Chipp exclaimed. Walking back to the corpse, Beo asked turning to Chipp, "What the (censored)!?"  "(Hello Secret Agents!)" A voice called out from the castle, "(How are you doing?" Getting up, Chipp turned to source and exclaimed, "(Censored) it! What the heck are You're doing!? We come in peace!" "Yeah right!" The duck like garuda with a silver visor with two holes for sight said emerging from the shadows, "(The last time you came here, Gulliver town burned down!)" "Blueacon!" A voice called out as a masked figure emerged, "What the heck just- oh hello there."

Inside, the masked figure said to Chase and the others as they passed many Bucketheads, "Sorry about that! Blueacon can be roudy at times." "You call launching a cow carcass roudy!?" Chase exclaimed. "Well, he's had a troubled  childhood." "Haven't we all." Scott said crossing his arms. "My name is Claymont, Clay for short. Blueacon and I are stationed here to protect our borders and assist any refugees leaving the north." Squinting his eyes, Chipp asked, "Look, a large white Red Dragon ship past by Caleum city about two days ago and tracked it towards your continent. It's a small cruiser like vessel about two Kokoli fields long. Have you seen such a ship?" "Well, yes, I did saw such a ship indeed. It was near the border when I found it and I called the base about it. However an hour later, a fighter from north shot at it and fled. At that point the ship headed for mainland." "Okay good! Is there anyone in the mainland that we can collaborate? " Chipp said before Blueacon dropped down fron the wall. "Well, there are Primo and Jerry in Gulliver town." Clay said, "But they received reports of age eaters in the town so I recommend we wait a while before contacting them. "Local beasts I presume?" Beo asked. "They're not local beasts." Scott explained, "They're monsters that feed on age itself reducing anything to their original state. If they catch you, you'll have to go throughpuberty again." "More fairy tales?" Beo asked clearly not convinced, "*sigh* Okay, what do we need to do to kill it? Fling salt in it's face?" "(Nah horse face,)" Blueacon said approaching the group, "(all you need is a (censored) load of weapons and a little luck.)" "Horse face?" Beo commented with a chuckle, "Now that's a new one!" "We have another group in the south, so we'll relay the information." Chipp said, "We're parked in the swamp if you need us." "Our pleasure!" Clay said, "I recommend you stay far away from the border, it's very dangerous there." Turning from Blueacon to Q, Wisey pondered 'There's something similar between the visor guy and Q.' Noticing Wisey's look, Blueacon squinted his eyes as they glowed underneath his visor.

Meanwhile....

"Come on!" Kaiser exclaimed, slamming his hands on Eithine's desk. "I need this!" "Look," Eithine said after taking sip of coffee, "We are still in process of building your actual X-injector.  Besides, I already gave you and Omnidec new weapons. I suggest you make use of it." "Eithine," Verdtrus said, standing next to Kaiser "Where are you getting these X-injectors?" "We have a weapon's expert on board along with a massive 3d printer." "What?" Omnidec asked, now entering the room with Chromdraco, "Is that where this gun comes from?" "Why wasn't I told about this?" Verdtrus asked. "Firstly you were in a hurry to pick up your remaining comrades that we did not have time to explain the improvements made to this ship while you rambled about place to place, plus you didn't ask so-" "We went over everything else in the presentation and this is what you decidedto omit!?" Verdtrus asked before a com on the desk beeped. "Hello?" Eithine asked after turning on the comm. "Eithine!" Vandrin said, "The CPDF have been spotted near the border!" "What!?" Kaiser exclaimed,  "Let me at them! I can take em!" "No!" Eithine exclaimed, "We need to play this carefully. It's likely that they may have gone to the Bucketheads for information. Why do you think that we relocated?" "What if we send someone who can get in and out without being detected?" Omnidec asked, "Maybe I can lead a team to scope out how many agents we are dealing with." "Alright," Verdtrus said, "No more than five people alright?" "Yes sir!" Omnidec said, "I won't let you down!" "Vandrin and Binn have already gone north near the border this morning , I recommend you take the sky skimmer. It's unyielding but it's efficient in bringing you where you need to go." "Alright, I'll go get Twin Drake and Flip so we-" "Oh Omni was it," Eithine interrupted, "be sure to bring your gun as well, I have a feeling it might be useful." Looking back Omnidec raised a thumbs up and ran out.

Turning to Eithine, Verdtrus asked, "What else should I need to know about this vessel?" Sighing Eithine answered "As you've asked, we haven't touched the main core of this vessel. As we speak, it is under stasis with a class 7 security lock specifically designed to opened from the outside as per requested. Also aside from our weapons development expert,  we have 4 other occupants, one of which was a previously failed experiment." "Would that be the individual that was within the pod in the Persolus' underbelly?" "Yes, I remember, Jekk was not that kind of you was he?" "No, not really I was on the receiving end of his boot while my friend here suffered from Vandrin's venom." "Jekk had you on his what!?" Chromdraco exclaimed before Eithine said, "I heard what had happened and I profusely apologize for it, I really do, but Jekk had good reason to be suspicious. The Red Dragon army nowadays is comprised of both splinter cells from the Five years war and what's left of an Armada with origins similar to yours which came in to this reality about 8 years ago. The dark Scavengers were one of these splinter cells and it's commander, the numian you call Black Hermit was promoted to one of the eight high commanders of this army." "Eight commanders?" Verdtrus asked. "Yes," Eithine answered, "but there are those who believe that B.H. was promoted out of nepotism and that he doesn't deserve to be a high Commander. Especially Gasper of the Tartarus." "That explains the leak about the coup,"  Verdtrus said, "but it does not explain Effiel Blue." "The agent of the Lovers?" Eithine asked cocking a brow, "What would he have to do with this?" "He atracked one of my knights on orders fron a someone, I don't know who."  "Wait, he was confirmed dead just yesterday. His exoskeleton was found by authorities  along with his remains." "Flaron said she destroyed him along with his body so-" "A piece bit of him was found near your base in Ga hoot Street, fried by blaster fire." "Wait," Verdtrus asked, "Eiffel Blue can split apart!?" "Yes, he is a blue gelgian, a formless race of putty like creatures that needs a frame in order to take a proper form, though they are extremely agile." "How is a puddle of goo agile?" Chromdraco asked.  "They can bounce." Eithine answered. "Wait," Kaiser said with a strained face, "Was that spot with the fried goo near around a corner near the base?" "I think so why?" Eithine asked. "I think I might have fried him." Kaiser said, causing the three to widened.  Turning to Verdtrus, Eithine asked, "Verdtrus, may I speak Kaiser in private?" Outside, Chromdraco asked as Verdtrus closed the door, "Wait, what did Jekk do to you?" Suddenly a thump was heard as Eithine's yelled at Kaiser. "Can we talk about this somewhere private later?" Verdtrus asked as a second thump was heard, "I doubt that Eithine's fury might not last long."

Meanwhile in the south....

"In Gulliver town? Okay," Katie said "thanks for telling me Chipp." Turning off the comm, Katie walked up to Hoot and Matt who stood in the doorway to the ship , and said, "Well, it looks like we might need to relocate. "Why's that?" Hoot responded looking out to Gulliver town from the opening of their shuttle, "It sure looks nice."
